How we write, review and correct what we publish.
Health content affects real decisions. This page explains the rules we hold ourselves to.
Every article on LongevityFitness is written to an evidence-based standard and reviewed by Thurairaj Manoharan, a physiotherapist, before it is published. We cite named sources, we update articles on a schedule, we correct mistakes openly, and we do not run sponsored content or affiliate links. AI tools may help with drafting, but a person reviews and fact-checks every article.
How content is written and medically reviewed
- A topic is chosen from real questions that Malaysian adults and older adults ask about exercise and ageing.
- The article is drafted with the sources listed first, not added afterwards.
- Thurairaj, a physiotherapist with 13+ years in healthcare, reviews the draft for clinical accuracy and safety. Advice that would be unsafe for people with heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis or recent surgery is changed or removed.
- Each claim and number is checked against its source. If we cannot verify a claim, we soften it or drop it.
- The article is published with its review date and its references at the bottom.

Sourcing standards
We prefer, in this order:
- Systematic reviews, meta-analyses and large cohort studies in peer-reviewed journals, linked by PubMed, PMC or DOI.
- Guidelines and position stands from the World Health Organization and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
- Malaysian Ministry of Health Clinical Practice Guidelines and National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) reports, for local data and local standards of care.
We do not cite a source we have not opened. We do not treat social media posts, supplement-company material or single small studies as proof. Where the evidence is limited or mixed, the article says so.
Review and update cadence
Each article shows when it was published and when it was last reviewed. We re-review every article at least once a year, and sooner when a major guideline, review or Malaysian recommendation changes. A material update changes the review date. A typo fix does not.
Corrections
If you find an error, an out-of-date statement or a broken source, tell us by email at hello@longevityfitness.com.my or by WhatsApp. We check the report against the source, correct confirmed errors promptly and update the review date. For a significant correction, we note what changed on the page.
Independence
We do not publish sponsored content. We do not use affiliate links, and we do not earn commission on products we mention. Our income comes from our coaching services, and we say so on pages where a service is relevant. Nobody outside the team can pay to change what an article says.
How we use AI
We use AI tools as a drafting aid, for example to structure an outline or tighten wording. AI does not decide what is true. Every article is reviewed and fact-checked by a human, and clinical content is reviewed by the physiotherapist before publication. We do not publish AI-generated references: each citation is checked by a person against the original page.
Medical disclaimer
Our content is educational and does not replace advice from your doctor or physiotherapist. Please read our medical disclaimer. If you have a medical condition, speak to your doctor before changing your exercise.
